Viking Knit Earrings

$25 for the two hour class

Prerequisite: None

Instructor: Megan Kinman

Viking knit is a type of weaving and is easy to make.   Viking Knit chains are made from long pieces of wire that are hand worked into interconnecting loops.  Can be sporty or classically elegant! You will learn to work with a drawing plate to weave your wire into a chain.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES: One spool of 24 gauge silver or copper craft wire, two crystal beads that are 2-4mm, two small bead caps and two earwires.  We will provide the jumprings and the tools to learn Viking Knit.  Then when you fall in love with it, you can buy your own tools. You may not be able to finish both earrings, but you will learn the technique to finish the set.

Sophia “Flat Braid” Bracelet

This is a stunning and yet simple bracelet to make.  This sample is with Seahawk inspired colors, but you can pick your favorite colors or team!

REQUIRED SUPPLIES FOR 7.5” BRACELET: 32 round 6mm glass beads for the center, 64 bicone 6×4 beads, half tube of 11/0 seed beads, four 6mm, eight yards of Fireline or Wildfire and a two prong clasp.

Wired Angel Pendant

Simple Simon Necklace

Enjoy a fresh and fun new class and learn to use our newest tool and you get to take it home!  Using the hollow round nose pliers creates simple loops easily!  Make a beautiful necklace with a series of beads joined with simple loops. 

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  Around thirty 8-12mm beads, a two hole focal piece like the filigree in the sample.  You can also bring some extra charms and/or crystals if you want to dangle them from the focal piece.  Chain is always a nice addition to this necklace.  You can finish the back of the necklace with 1/2 strand of glass pearls, chain or fabric like sari silk.

Wrap Bead Cuff

Prerequisite: MUST HAVE taken our Wrapped Bead Bracelet class or are very proficient in making Wrap Bead Bracelets.  You will most likely not finish this bracelet during the class time, but you will have learned everything you need to finish it later.

This cuff is made with five rows wide of three different types of beads  and it makes this amazingly beautiful bracelet.    

REQUIRED SUPPLIES for 7” BRACELET:  Five feet of 1mm leather, 8” strand of 8mm round beads (at least 24), one 16” strand of 4-5mm round or rondelle beads and one 16” strand of 3-4mm round or rondelle beads and a button with large shank that can accommodate four pieces of leather or add a split ring to the shank.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  One package 20 gauge craft wire.  We suggest Bead Smith’s German Wire.  One large flat bead sized around 30mm.  Bring your pliers and bracelet mandrel, if available.

Hand Knotted Pearl Necklace

Want another way to string your pearls or beads?   Hand knotting using silk thread is easier than you might think.  It drapes beautifully and can protect your pearls or beads from rubbing and wearing.  There are a variety of options in knotting to change the look from formal to fun and casual.   You will learn to knot silk and be able to make a pretty glass pearl necklace by taking this class.

Chenille Flat Stitch Bracelet

Chenille Stitch is a  combination of netting and herringbone, chenille stitch makes a beautiful beaded bracelet.   Once you learn the stitch you can make bracelets, necklaces and even earrings.

Breanna Bracelet

It is surprising that three different bead sizes can make such a pretty statement.  Use two hole Superduos to connect the beaded flowers.  It is like a flower garden on your wrist.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:   Eighty each of two colors of Superduos, less than a half a tube each of two colors of 11/0 seed beads, less than a half a tube of one color of 15/0 seed beads, ten 6mm round stone or glass beads, a clasp and six yards of Fireline or Wildfire.

This is a great beginning cwire-work-earringlass to find out about wire and wire working. Learn about different types of wire, gauge (sizes), which gauge to use and how to use wire working tools.  In class, you should be able to make one pair of earrings, including the earwires and a basic hook for hook and eye closure.  You should also be able to make one ring adorned with coils.  

 

REQUIRED SUPPLIES: Bring your own bead (6-10mm) for the center piece of the ring and two beads for your earrings.

Do you have cabochons or undrilled slices and rocks you would love to make into pendants?  Then wire wrapping a cabochon is the class to take.   You will want to be wire wrapping everything.  

REQUIRED SUPPLIES: You need to bring a cabochon and some accent beads.  We suggest using an unusual shaped cabochon, not oval, which is harder to wire wrap.  The wire we will supply will be copper or silver plated craft wire.

Bump in the Road Bracelet

This bracelet uses straight even count peyote with a pattern and the shape is created by using a variety of sizes of beads.  So chic and versatile

REQUIRED SUPPLIES FOR 7” BRACELET:  Twenty four 4mm rondelles, three colors of 11/0 Delicas half tube each, less than 1/2 tube of 6/0, 8/0 and 11/0 seed beads in contrasting or coordinating colors, four spacers as embellishment at the clasp and a two hole slider clasp.

Holiday Star or Tree Pendant

You will learn to form the star or tree using a wire jig. You can then hammer the wire and texturize it how you like.   Then it is time to decorate your piece by wire weaving the beads.  This technique would also makes a super cute earrings!

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  A mix of beads, crystals, seed beads that could fill in your pendant size.  We recommend 2-3 inches.  We will provide the craft wire used in class.

You will learn to make wrapped loops, which are more durable than simple loops because they won’t accidentally come open causing you to potentially lose your beads.  You can use this same technique for adding beads to necklaces and bracelets and making bead connectors.  You should be able to make one pair of earrings.

Learn to Crimp and Make a Bracelet

$10 for the one hour class with bead kit

Instructor: Criss Reynoldscrimp

Have you had trouble with your crimping not holding and loosing beads?  Then learn the techniques to make a solid and permanent connection with crimps.  You can then attach a clasp or fix your  existing jewelry.  You will find out about the tools, techniques and materials needed to make a bracelet with a clasp.  Also find out about beading wire, crimp covers and wire guardians.
