Wrap Bead Cuff
$25 for the two and half hour class
Thursday 10/19/17 @ 5:30-8pm

Level: INTERMEDIATE          Instructor: Marcella Bartoncuff

Prerequisite: MUST HAVE taken our Wrapped Bead Bracelet class or are very proficient in making Wrap Bead Bracelets.  You will most likely not finish this bracelet during the class time, but you will have learned everything you need to finish it later.

This cuff is made with five rows wide of three different types of beads  and it makes this amazingly beautiful bracelet.    

REQUIRED SUPPLIES for 7” BRACELET:  Five feet of 1mm leather, 8” strand of 8mm round beads (at least 24), one 16” strand of 4-5mm round or rondelle beads and one 16” strand of 3-4mm round or rondelle beads and a button with large shank that can accommodate four pieces of leather or add a split ring to the shank.

Chenille Flat Stitch Bracelet

$25 for the two hour class

Prerequisite: None

Chenille Stitch is a  combination of netting and herringbone, chenille stitch makes a beautiful beaded bracelet.   Once you learn the stitch you can make bracelets, necklaces and even earrings.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  One tube 11/0 Delicas, one tube 15/0 seed bead and a clasp

Wire Worked Cuff

Prerequisite: Basic Wire Forms or equivalent experience.

You can learn to make this very unique wire wrapped bracelet cuff with your favorite center pendant bead.  So Cute.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  One package 20 gauge craft wire.  We suggest Bead Smith’s German Wire.  One large flat bead sized around 30mm.  Bring your pliers and bracelet mandrel, if available.

Bump in the Road Necklace
$30 for the three hour class
Sunday 10/22/17 @ 1-4pm

Level: Beginning           

Instructor: Pat Schmidt

Prerequisite: None, but knowledge of Peyote is recommended.       

This necklace uses straight even count peyote with a pattern and the shape is created by using a variety of sizes of beads.  This necklace is so interesting looking with it’s chevron design.   

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  Four colors all together that are contrasting or coordinating:  11/0 seed beads; one tube of first color and 1/2 tube of second color.  8/0 seed beads; one tube of third color and 1/2 tube of the fourth color. Fifteen drops of your choice and a charm or button for a clasp.  Sample uses an angel wing.

Simple Simon Necklace
$25 for the two hour class and GET A FREE TOOL!
Tuesday 10/24/17 @ 5:30-7:30pm

Prerequisite: None              

Instructor: Criss Reynolds

Enjoy a fresh and fun new class and learn to use our newest tool and you get to take it home!  Using the hollow round nose pliers creates simple loops easily!  Make a beautiful necklace with a series of beads joined with simple loops. 

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:  Around thirty 8-12mm beads, a two hole focal piece like the filigree in the sample.  You can also bring some extra charms and/or crystals if you want to dangle them from the focal piece.  Chain is always a nice addition to this necklace.  You can finish the back of the necklace with 1/2 strand of glass pearls, chain or fabric like sari silk.

Learn about different types of wire, gauge (sizes), which gauge to use and how to use wire working tools.  In class, you should be able to make one pair of earrings, including the earwires and a basic hook for hook and eye closure.  You should also be able to make one ring adorned with coils.  

REQUIRED SUPPLIES: Bring your own bead (6-10mm) for the center piece of the ring and two beads for your earrings.

 Hand Knotted Pearl Necklace

$25 for the ninety minute class with bead kit

Want another way to string your pearls or beads?   Hand knotting using silk thread is easier than you might think.  It drapes beautifully and can protect your pearls or beads from rubbing and wearing.  There are a variety of options in knotting to change the look from formal to fun and casual.   You will learn to knot silk and be able to make a pretty glass pearl necklace by taking this class.

Come, Play and Stamp Away Day

Saturday 11/4/17 @ 1-4pm

Want to play with metal stamping tools without spending money on them first?  We will have all our stamps, hammers, punches, dapping sets, texturing hammers and stamping blocks out for you to play with.  Need ideas and inspiration?  We also have books you can look at.  Only thing you need to supply is your own metal blanks to stamp on.  You can bring your own or purchase them at our shop. 

 

This is not a class, but if we can we will help and give some suggestions.  It depends on how busy the shop is.

Wire Wrap a Cabochon

Do you have cabochons or undrilled slices and rocks you would love to make into pendants?  Then wire wrapping a cabochon is the class to take.   You will want to be wire wrapping everything.  

REQUIRED SUPPLIES: You need to bring a cabochon and some accent beads.  We suggest using an unusual shaped cabochon, not oval, which is harder to wire wrap.  The wire we will supply will be copper or silver plated craft wire.

Finishing School

Free Demonstration

Have you created beaded pieces and not know how to finish them?  Or seen inspiring pictures of jewelry and bead creations in books and magazines and wondered, how did they finish that?  Then our Finishing School (Free Demonstration) is perfect for you!

Megan is our finishing extraordinaire and she will be leading these demonstrations.  Just come to the shop any time during our two hour free demonstration and see many of the different findings for finishing beaded creations.  Learn how to use which ones for which projects.  You can bring your own pieces, if you like, and ask how to finish them.  This demonstration is for how to use the findings and we will not be covering any metal working, soldering, or cold connections.
