Jewelry Artist Carrie Meyer

December’s 2012 Artist of the Month: Carrie Meyer Carrie Meyer

Carrie Meyer was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA and now resides in the beautiful Northwest near Bellingham, WA.   Although she loves being a stay at home mom, as well as being very active in the community, with both her church and children’s school, she’s always had a passion for both fashion and jewelry.

Her business started off innocently enough as she simply began making and designing fashion jewelry for her own use. However, immediately friends, family and people in general began asking where they could purchase the same pieces she was wearing. And before she knew it, Get Carrie’d Away was born which now includes a thriving on-line business.

We invite you to see Carrie’s passion in her jewelry and check out her website: Get Carrie’d Away   Her goal and passion is to help provide you with emotionally rich jewelry that will make you both look and feel incredible.

Jewelry Artist Sherri Greenleaf

November’s 2012 Artist of the Month: Sherri GreenleafSherri

An eye for design: Always having had the ability to turn innate objects into inviting items of warmth and beauty, I have used that sense to create unique and lovely styles of jewelry.

The past three years, I have owned a private working studio in Casa Grande, AZ. I had the fortunate opportunity to study beading styles, silversmithing, lapidary, and even woodturning while there, giving me a new prospective from which to grow and develop my own style.

The Pacific Northwest has always been my home. Recently my husband and I returned to this beautiful area to be near family and friends, as well as further our artist endeavors.

Now you can come to our shop and see her jewelry that is for sale during November.

What is Fairy Ribbon?

What is Fairy Ribbon?
Our Newest Arrival!
fairy ribbonFairy Ribbon is a hand dyed silk ribbon that has a different texture.  The edges are all hand stitched and the ribbon is almost transparent.  We also brought in Silky Ribbon, which is wider than Fairy Ribbon and also has hand stitched edges.  It is more opaque ribbon with a deeper color.  Last, but not least, we have 2mm Silk String, which is more like cording.

All strands are around 40 inches long and can be finished with cord ends, fold overs, ribbon ends, etc.  They are a beautiful alternative to chain and add color and interest to your beaded creations!  As with most dyed silk, the dye may not be 100% colorfast. The hand dyed nature of this ribbon may show tonal color shifts on individual strands.

Artist Leanna Bowman

October Artist of the Month: Leanna Bowman

Leanna was born in Utah, grew up in Las Vegas and moved to Sudden Valley in 1989.  Of all the places she has lived, she loves it here the best!!!  Leanna has two sons who are grown up with families of their own!

One day, Leanna saw a book about wire wrapping and she thought, I can do that!  A year ago, Leanna bought some wire and some tools and then heard about a new bead store in town, Beauty in the Bead Shop.  She took a class and now she is hooked!!!

Leanna works at WWU, but every spare minute she has is spent in her studio.  Now you can come to our shop and see her jewelry that is for sale during October.  Leanna has a keen eye and eclectic choice of worked metal and beaded jewelry. It is very inspirational to see what she has accomplished in such a short period of time.
